I recently covered the situation where Yandex charges money without warning, and readers were justifiably outraged. Now the Russian company has taken yet another step: starting June 16, 2026, the annual Yandex Plus subscription is going up from 3,490 to 4,490 rubles. A thousand-ruble jump at once — that’s no longer inflation, it’s a tradition. But there’s a specific way to pay less, and you don’t have much time left.

What You Actually Get with a Yandex Plus Subscription
Before talking about the price, let’s figure out what’s included in Yandex Plus and why you’d pay for it at all. It’s a multi-subscription for four people that gives access to:
- Kinopoisk (an online cinema with movies, series, and original content);
- Yandex Music (ad-free, unlimited streaming);
- Yandex Books (e-books and audiobook library).
Beyond entertainment services, subscribers earn Plus points for purchases on Yandex Market, get discounts on Yandex Taxi, priority support, and additional perks across other ecosystem services. For a family of four that actively uses Yandex, the subscription’s value is obvious. For a single person — that’s already debatable.
I wrote a step-by-step guide on how to subscribe to Yandex Plus with all the nuances. Here, a different question matters more: how much it costs and where the price is headed.
Yandex Plus Subscription Price Increase

The monthly subscription went up last year. Image: Yandex
Let’s look at the history — it speaks for itself. The monthly Yandex Plus price since its launch in 2018 has changed as follows:
- 2018: 169 rubles per month;
- 2019: 199 rubles;
- 2021: 299 rubles;
- 2023: 399 rubles;
- December 1, 2025: 449 rubles.
Over seven years, the monthly Yandex Plus price has grown from 169 to 449 rubles — nearly tripling. And judging by the trend, nobody plans to stop. Yandex explains every increase with the standard set of words about “new features, library additions, and artificial intelligence technologies.” I’ve never heard the company give an explanation that sounded any different.
By the way, the Yandex Plus Kids add-on is also getting more expensive in parallel. If you added it for your child, it’s worth checking the current terms too.
Yandex Plus Price in 2026
The annual subscription has always been a way to save. Yandex Plus for a year let you pay upfront and get a discount compared to monthly payments. That worked until now. Starting June 16, 2026, the annual Yandex Plus price will rise from 3,490 to 4,490 rubles. A jump of 1,000 rubles at once — that’s a 29% increase in a single hike. And it’s not just subscriptions getting more expensive — smartphones are also rising in price, the very devices we use these subscriptions on.

Now the annual subscription is getting pricier too. Image: Yandex
That said, the annual plan is still 16% cheaper than monthly: paying month by month for a full year comes out to 449 × 12 = 5,388 rubles versus 4,490 for the annual plan. The math favors the annual option — but it’s no longer as compelling as it used to be. Yandex Plus in 2026 is becoming a noticeable expense. 4,490 rubles per year is roughly the same as the basic tier of several other streaming services. The choice becomes more deliberate.
How to Save on a Yandex Plus Subscription
The main advice — act before June 16. If you sign up for or renew your annual Yandex Plus subscription before that date, you’ll be charged at the old price of 3,490 rubles. That’s exactly a thousand rubles saved. You can do this in your account at plus.yandex.ru.
Additional ways to save:
- Up to 15% cashback in Plus points when paying with a Yandex Pay card: you need to select the “Yandex Plus” category in the Pay app during the payment month and set the card as your default payment method in your account;
- Yandex Plus promo codes periodically appear on partner websites, in Yandex apps, and through special promotions;
- Free Yandex Plus trial period: new users can get a 30-60 day free subscription when signing up for the first time;
- Yandex Plus for one ruble: such promotions periodically appear for new or returning subscribers;
- Activated Yandex Plus through partners: some banks, carriers, and services offer the subscription as part of their loyalty programs.

Is It Worth Subscribing to Yandex Plus in 2026?

You should hurry if you want to keep using Yandex
It depends on how exactly you use Yandex services. Subscribing to Yandex Plus makes sense in several cases:
- If you watch Kinopoisk at least a few times a month (a single subscription is cheaper than a separate one);
- If you actively listen to Yandex Music (it won’t work without Plus);
- If four family members use Yandex services (then 4,490 rubles per year is less than 1,200 per person, which is reasonable);
- If you regularly use Yandex Taxi and Market (Plus points really do add up).
It’s not worth subscribing if you only use one service out of the entire package. In that case, a standalone subscription will be cheaper. Kinopoisk without Plus costs less than the full bundle. The Yandex Plus price in 2026 is no longer the no-brainer deal it was in 2018. But for those who actively use the Yandex ecosystem, the subscription still pays for itself. The key thing is to sign up before June 16 at the old price. After that, it’ll be more expensive.
