Sonny Dickson has posted fresh iPhone 18 Pro mockups, and now we can finally see what Apple plans to release its flagship in this fall. Four colors: Light Blue, Black, Silver, and Dark Cherry. The main intrigue is that cherry color, which the insider directly calls a potential hit of the lineup. The flagship’s body shape will barely change — but the main change Apple has already revealed in advance, and it concerns the screen. The color mockups almost perfectly match what Macworld wrote about back in April. It seems the palette has already been finalized.

All iPhone 18 Pro Colors: What the New Mockups Showed

Dickson published photos of dummy models — these are empty shells without internals that case manufacturers use to prepare accessories in advance. The accuracy of such mockups is usually high: real production lines depend on them, so nobody wants to make mistakes.

The cherry color will be the top pick

The photos clearly show four color options. Light blue, silver, dark (either black or dark gray), and a rich cherry. The iPhone 18 Pro’s body shape is almost identical to last year’s model — the same camera plateau, the same proportions. Enthusiasts have already compared the new model with its predecessor, and the differences are truly minimal.

The only noticeable change on the front is a smaller Dynamic Island. This makes sense. The iPhone 17 Pro was already the biggest redesign in recent years, so Apple chose not to radically change the appearance just one year later.

Dark Cherry for iPhone 18 Pro: What Is This Color

The most interesting part here is the cherry. This isn’t a bright “fire engine” red, but a deep wine shade, closer to burgundy. Weibo insider Instant Digital described it as a mix of burgundy, coffee, and dark purple — meaning the color is complex and looks quite premium.

I’m betting that the cherry color will be the hit

For the Pro lineup, this is a bold move. Previously, “professional” iPhones stuck to strict and subdued tones, and cherry clearly stands out from that range. According to Dickson, this color could become the main hit of the lineup. And it’s easy to see why: every year Apple has a signature color that sells out first. Last season that role was played by Cosmic Orange, and this time, it looks like Dark Cherry will take over.

By the way, the orange and Deep Blue from the iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly be removed from the lineup. So cherry will fill the niche of “that one vibrant color.”

Pantone Color Codes for iPhone 18 Pro: What the Leak Reveals

This is where things get really interesting. Dickson’s mockups didn’t appear out of nowhere — they confirm an earlier leak that Macworld journalist Felipe Esposito reported back in April. His sources had access to CAD drawings of the new iPhones and named exactly the same four colors.

Moreover, Macworld published specific Pantone codes that Apple allegedly uses internally:

  • Light Blue — Pantone 2121
  • Dark Cherry — Pantone 6076
  • Silver — Pantone 427C

The light blue resembles Mist Blue from the iPhone 17 lineup, rather than a bright “denim” shade. When an independent insider like Dickson brings physical mockups in the same shades that a publication cited from blueprints a month earlier, the credibility of the leak increases significantly.

The same blueprints confirm the smaller Dynamic Island, and that’s not the only surprise: Apple will noticeably improve the screen of the new model. And Esposito himself is no stranger to this topic. He’s been writing about Apple for over ten years and was the first to report on titanium Apple Watch, for example.

Will iPhone 18 Pro Be Black or Dark Gray

Let’s go through the other three colors. Light Blue is a soft and calm blue. Many immediately recalled Sierra Blue from the iPhone 13 Pro, which was beloved by the public at the time. If Apple hits the same shade, it will be a surefire winner.

Silver is a classic that’s almost always in the lineup. Silver looks great in photos and never gets old, so its presence surprises no one.

Whether Apple will release the dark variant is still a question

But the dark option remains an intrigue. Dickson notes that things aren’t entirely clear with the black — in the end it could well turn out to be dark gray. Macworld’s leak specifically mentioned Dark Gray, so the probability of gray rather than coal-black is quite high. Depending on the shade, it could resemble either Graphite from the iPhone 13 Pro or Space Black from the iPhone 14 Pro.

Another nuance concerns not the color but the finish. According to rumors, Apple is moving away from the two-tone look on the back panel in favor of a more unified design — the glass and frame will be closer in shade.

Why iPhone 18 Pro Colors May Change Before Release

It’s important to stay level-headed here. Dummy models are made based on leaked blueprints, and the shades on them may differ from the final versions — material and lighting change everything. Dickson himself honestly warns: this is more of a general idea of the palette than an exact color reproduction.

There’s also a more serious caveat. Last year, both Macworld and Dickson reported that Apple was considering black and steel gray for the iPhone 17 Pro. In the end, neither of those colors actually shipped. Apple continues testing options right up until mass production starts, and for the iPhone 18 Pro, it hasn’t begun yet. So one of the four colors could theoretically still be dropped.

The conclusion is simple. Since two independent sources — physical mockups and CAD blueprints — point to the same palette, the chances that we’ll see these exact colors are high. But until Apple officially announces it, surprises are always possible.
