Every couple of months, the same story repeats itself. T-Bank uploads an app to the App Store under someone else’s name, asks users to download it as quickly as possible, and a day or two later Apple removes it. Sometimes it gets absurd: sometimes banking apps won’t open on iOS 27, sometimes they’re simply not in the store at all. This time, the disguise turned out especially amusing — the new T-Investments is pretending to be a food selection assistant. The app is called EatsRate, the storefront shows burgers and pizza priced at 399 and 499 rubles, while inside hides a full-fledged broker. Here’s what it is, how to use it, and whether you should hurry.

The new T-Investments app has landed in the App Store
New T-Investments App EatsRate for iOS
The latest T-Investments app is already available in the App Store, and it’s called EatsRate. Based on the description and icon, it’s a service that helps you choose what to order for lunch: categories with burgers, pizza, appetizers, and drinks, a selection of popular dishes, prices in rubles. It looks like a typical food aggregator that you’d scroll right past in the catalog without a second thought.

But that’s the whole point. This isn’t the first time the service has changed its disguise. Back in February, it was released under the name Active Lab, and before that it appeared as “Finansist” and “Shakh i Mat” (Checkmate). T-Bank came under sanctions back in 2023, after which its apps were removed from the App Store, and since then the company has been regularly returning to Apple’s store under new names and through third-party developer accounts.

The app is once again disguised in the brand’s signature colors
The logic here is simple. The less the app looks like a banking or investment app, the longer it can survive in the catalog before someone reports it or before Apple’s algorithms detect it. That’s why this time they avoided the words “investments,” “broker,” and “stocks” in the name and description.
Is It Safe to Download EatsRate on iPhone
There’s no catch in the app itself. These are the real T-Investments for iPhone, not a third-party clone from scammers, which have become quite numerous lately. The food interface only works until you log in: you open the app, authorize with your phone number and password, and you’re greeted with the familiar interface showing your portfolio, securities catalog, and analytics. No complicated activation steps, like what was needed for the banking app — none of that is required here.
Inside, everything is the same as you’re used to seeing: personal portfolio, quotes, orders, support. The design hasn’t changed — only the storefront in the App Store has been updated. Essentially, it’s the same version that was released under the names Active Lab and “Finansist,” just with new packaging.
I’d like to separately address the security aspect. Since the app is genuine and comes from the bank itself, there’s no need to worry about your data. What’s actually dangerous are fakes with similar names that sometimes slip into the App Store and Google Play. So only install it via a direct link from an official source, not the first app you find with the word “investments” in the name.
When Could EatsRate Be Removed from the App Store
This is the main question. Apple detects these tricks fairly quickly. Previous versions lasted anywhere from a few hours to a couple of weeks, and the most “successful” ones sometimes stayed for a month. According to rumors, moderation of sanctioned services by Apple is now noticeably stricter than a year ago, although officially the company doesn’t comment on timelines.

So I wouldn’t count on EatsRate staying in the store for weeks. If you need the app, download it now while it’s available. An already installed version will continue to work even after it’s removed from the catalog, so you won’t lose anything — you just won’t receive future updates through the App Store.
Older versions also gradually lose features. The bank only adds new capabilities to fresh builds, which means that sooner or later you’ll need to switch to the current app. It makes more sense to do this in advance.
Should You Download EatsRate Right Now
My advice is simple: install it while you can, even if you’re not actively trading. An app for buying securities on iPhone can come in handy at the most inconvenient moment, and getting it from the App Store isn’t always possible. You authorize once, and you’re insured against a situation where the old version stops working and there’s nowhere to get a new one.
If you want a proper app with its original name and without the masquerade, it’s still only available on Android through RuStore. iPhone owners are left to catch these temporary windows in the App Store and download immediately as soon as the service confirms the release of a new version. In short, don’t put it off. Today EatsRate is in the catalog, but tomorrow its place might be taken by yet another “food delivery” app under a different name.
