A couple of years ago, HONOR introduced its full-fledged flagships to the global market for the first time. While previously we only dealt with the numbered series, in 2024 the Magic lineup appeared in Russia and other countries. It became so popular that the Chinese brand’s flagships are now purchased almost more often than smartphones from other companies. Today we’ll compare HONOR Magic7 Pro and HONOR Magic8 Pro — two latest top-tier models with an emphasis on cameras.

HONOR Magic7 Pro and Magic8 Pro Price

At launch in Russia, both smartphones cost over 100,000 rubles, which is quite typical for flagships. However, the price of HONOR Magic8 Pro, as well as Magic7 Pro, is now significantly lower.

At the time of publication, the smartphones can be purchased at the following prices:

  • HONOR Magic7 Pro — from 55,000 ₽;
  • HONOR Magic8 Pro — from 70,000 ₽.

HONOR Magic8 Pro is more expensive than HONOR Magic7 Pro because it’s newer. The “Eight” was released in 2026, while the previous generation model came out in 2025. Our task is to find out how justified the 15,000-ruble premium is.

Which Smartphone Is More Powerful: Magic7 Pro or Magic8 Pro

Of course, the speed of a smartphone matters to each of us. And it’s influenced by the processor. Both models offer flagship solutions, but HONOR Magic8 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while Magic7 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The difference between them is 1 year and approximately 20% in performance. In everyday use, there’s no difference at all. Both smartphones fly. Only in games does HONOR Magic8 Pro deliver slightly more frames per second, and thanks to its more powerful processor, it also features advanced image processing algorithms.

HONOR Magic8 Pro and Magic7 Pro Camera

Let’s first look at the technical differences between the cameras:

  • The main camera of HONOR Magic7 Pro features a variable aperture, which helps it better adapt to different shooting scenarios;
  • The periscope telephoto lens of the new model provides 3.7x optical zoom, while last year’s model offers only 3x, meaning HONOR Magic8 Pro should zoom in on subjects better;
  • The newer processor also speaks in favor of the new model.

There are no other technical differences. Now let’s move on to the practical part and photo samples from HONOR Magic7 Pro and HONOR Magic8 Pro, starting with the main camera.

The Magic8 Pro camera is, overall, better.

The main camera of HONOR Magic8 Pro takes brighter shots in the evening. On one hand, such photos look cinematic and modern; on the other hand, naturalness is lost. It’s up to you to decide what looks better.
