Despite the fact that Samsung smartphones are generally getting more expensive, the Galaxy S26 is moving in the opposite direction. In April 2026, it appeared on AliExpress for 64 thousand rubles — already cheaper than Russian retail at that point. Now the price has dropped to 48,685 rubles. For context: the Galaxy S25 currently costs 60-70 thousand in Russian stores, while the S26 costs 75-90 thousand. That means the latest flagship on AliExpress is cheaper than last year’s model in Russian retail. Let me explain whether it’s worth buying.

Samsung’s new flagship is now cheaper than ever

Why Has the Galaxy S26 Dropped So Much in Two Months

In April, the Galaxy S26 on AliExpress cost 64,355 rubles — already 30% cheaper than Russian retail at that time. Over two months, the Galaxy S26 price dropped another 15 thousand and fell to 48,685 rubles. This is standard dynamics for flagships on AliExpress: the first wave of buyers has passed, the hype has died down, and sellers lower prices to maintain turnover. Plus, the strengthening of the ruble puts additional downward pressure on ruble prices.

The smartphone has really crashed in price on AliExpress

Among the most discounted smartphones, the Galaxy S26 currently looks particularly interesting: the drop from 64 thousand to 49 thousand in two months is a significant step.

Galaxy S26 on AliExpress vs Galaxy S26 in Russia

There’s a key nuance here that changes everything. The Galaxy S26 processor depends on the supply region. In Russia, the version with the Exynos 2600 — Samsung’s own chip — is sold. On AliExpress, it’s the version with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The performance difference in AnTuTu is 37% in favor of Snapdragon. That means the Galaxy S26 with Snapdragon for 48,685 rubles on AliExpress is faster than the same smartphone in a Russian store for 75-90 thousand rubles. Paying almost twice as much for a weaker chip is logic that’s hard to explain.

The Galaxy S26 in Russia in official retail has one real advantage — warranty from a Russian service center. If that’s essential, the 30-40 thousand ruble difference might be justified. Although I personally had no trouble returning a smartphone from AliExpress under warranty in Russia.

Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S26 — Is It Worth Paying 10 Thousand More

I wrote about how the Galaxy S25 can currently be bought on AliExpress for 39 thousand. Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S26 with a 10 thousand ruble difference is a legitimate question.

The new smartphone is genuinely better

What you get for the extra money with the Galaxy S26 phone:

  • 6.3-inch screen vs 6.2;
  • 4300 mAh battery vs 4000 mAh;
  • approximately 25% performance improvement over the S25;
  • One UI 8.5 pre-installed;
  • an additional year of Android updates.

Honest take on the weak point: a 4300 mAh battery in 2026 is modest. Most competitors for the same price offer 6000-7500 mAh. If battery life is a priority, the Galaxy S26 is not the best choice regardless of price.

Is It Worth Buying the Galaxy S26 for 49 Thousand

Buying the Galaxy S26 makes sense in specific scenarios.

Go for it if:

  • you want the Samsung ecosystem with Galaxy AI, One UI, and eight years of Android updates;
  • a compact body with a large screen matters — 6.3 inches in reasonable dimensions;
  • having the latest generation rather than last year’s flagship is important to you.

Look elsewhere if:

  • battery is critical (4300 mAh is not enough for a power user);
  • you want maximum specs for the money (Chinese flagships offer more RAM, bigger batteries, and a comparable chip).

I discussed alternatives in my article about which Chinese flagship to buy in 2026. For 48-50 thousand rubles, there are options with 7000+ mAh batteries and Leica or Hasselblad cameras. The Galaxy S26 specs in the context of its 48,685 ruble price are a fair deal. Not a battery record-holder, but it has Snapdragon, the latest One UI, a large screen, and eight years of updates. The Galaxy S26 smartphone for 49 thousand is a Samsung flagship at a mid-range price. It’s worth buying.
