Every year Apple chooses one “signature” color for Pro iPhone models that instantly becomes a sales hit. Last year it was Cosmic Orange — a bold orange shade that significantly boosted iPhone sales and made it a bestseller. Now its time is passing. Something more restrained, yet no less striking, is taking its place.

Ready for a burgundy iPhone?
New iPhone 18 Pro Photos
On April 20, photos appeared online showing protective glass for the camera module of the iPhone 18 Pro in four colors. The images were published by well-known insider Majin Bu, who has repeatedly leaked information about future iPhones — and has often been right. Now he has confirmed the previous leak about iPhone 18 Pro colors.

All four iPhone 18 Pro colors in photos
The photos clearly show four options: black, silver, dark red, and blue. Chinese inscriptions confirm that these are indeed for the camera module of the iPhone 18 Pro. If these are real components and not just another batch of cases from AliExpress, then we’re looking at the practically final color palette of the upcoming flagship.
All iPhone 18 Pro Colors
Majin Bu’s photos perfectly matched the Macworld insider report published on April 17. The publication cites a source familiar with Apple’s supply chain and names the specific iPhone 18 Pro colors:

The only color missing from the picture is silver, but that’s no surprise
- Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076) — a deep wine-red shade, the main newcomer of the lineup
- Light Blue (Pantone 2121) — a light blue reminiscent of the Mist Blue of the regular iPhone 17
- Dark Gray — dark gray, the return of a neutral dark option
- Silver — classic silver, no surprises
Note: black won’t be available again. Apple is refusing to offer classic black for the Pro lineup for the second year in a row. This was also confirmed by Chinese insider Instant Digital — according to his information, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max won’t come in black.
The New Dark Cherry Color for iPhone 18 Pro
The main intrigue of 2026 is Dark Cherry. Earlier, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg wrote that Apple is experimenting with design for the new Pro models. Other insiders mentioned burgundy, bordeaux, and even brown. Now the picture has become clearer: it will be a deep wine tone, closer to cherry than classic red.

The cherry color will be quite restrained and under certain lighting will have a brownish tint
Dark Cherry is not a bright or flashy color. It’s significantly more restrained than last year’s Cosmic Orange. The matte texture of the glass back panel will likely give it a velvety appearance, and the titanium frame will complement the sense of premium quality.
Interestingly, in Majin Bu’s photo, the cherry shade shifts toward brown under certain lighting. This indirectly confirms the words of earlier insiders who mentioned “coffee” and “brown” colors. They likely all saw the same Dark Cherry, just under different lighting conditions.
And the silver in the photos looks like Starlight — soft, warm, rather than cold silver. However, this could simply be a camera effect.
Why iPhone 18 Pro Colors Could Still Change
All four colors are still in the development stage. The iPhone 18 Pro hasn’t yet entered mass production, and Apple could well change its plans. Moreover, the company doesn’t always offer four colors for Pro models — one of the options could be dropped.
Last year, Apple considered black and steel gray for the iPhone 17 Pro. Neither of these colors made it to the final lineup. So surprises are possible this year as well.
What’s New in iPhone 18 Pro
Colors are far from the only news. Here’s what’s known about the upcoming flagship so far.
Camera with variable aperture. This is arguably the most important upgrade. For the first time in iPhone history, the camera will be able to physically change the aperture size. In dark conditions, it will open wider, letting in more light. In bright lighting, it will narrow to prevent overexposure. This is technology from the world of DSLR cameras, and its arrival in the iPhone is a big step forward. Variable aperture has been reported by Ming-Chi Kuo, MacRumors, and several Chinese insiders.

The smaller Dynamic Island is what many are looking forward to the most
Smaller Dynamic Island. Some Face ID components will move under the display, allowing the “island” to become noticeably more compact. This is confirmed by several independent sources, including analyst Ross Young.
A20 Pro chip on 2nm. The new processor, codenamed Borneo Ultra, will be built on TSMC’s cutting-edge 2nm process. It promises performance gains and reduced power consumption.
Apple C2 modem. The second generation of Apple’s own modem will provide 5G support and satellite internet in a single chip.
Price. Analysts believe Apple will try to maintain current price levels despite rising component costs. The company is negotiating with Samsung and SK Hynix for discounts on memory chips.
iPhone 18 Pro Release Date
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max presentation is expected in September 2026 — Apple remains faithful to its schedule. Along with the Pro models, a foldable iPhone is also expected to be unveiled, which is rumored to be called iPhone Ultra. Meanwhile, the base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will likely be postponed until spring 2027.
September is still a long way off, and leaks will appear more and more frequently. But it’s already clear: Apple is betting on elegance. Dark Cherry isn’t about “look at me” — it’s about understated luxury. After the bold orange, such a shift seems logical. The only question is whether the cherry color will survive to the final lineup.
