The budget smartphone market has a new addition: today, June 25, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A27, and the newcomer turned out to be quite interesting. I love models like this because the company packs almost everything you need into them without inflating the price sky-high. In terms of positioning, this is a mid-range model between the Galaxy A17 and A37: simpler and cheaper than the higher-end one, but noticeably more interesting than the lower-end one. Let’s break down what it can do and who it’s really meant for.

The Galaxy A27 is here. Is it worth buying?

What’s New in Samsung Galaxy A27

The main upgrade is under the hood — the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Samsung has finally moved away from Exynos in this class, and the chip runs faster and cooler in everyday use: social media, YouTube, navigation, and light games run without any hiccups.

Visually, the smartphone hasn’t changed at all

Up front, there’s a nice 120 Hz AMOLED display with a 6.7-inch diagonal, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, and a neat punch-hole cutout for the front camera instead of an old-fashioned teardrop notch. Battery life is handled by a 5000 mAh battery with 25W charging, which confidently lasts a full day.

For photos, there’s a 50 MP camera with optical stabilization plus ultra-wide and macro modules, and out of the box it runs the latest One UI 8.5 on Android 16 with a promised six years of updates. On the downside, I’d note the IP64 rating, which is simpler than the higher-end models, and the missing microSD slot.

Artificial Intelligence in Samsung Galaxy A27

I was particularly pleased that artificial intelligence has reached the budget segment as well. The Galaxy A27 supports Google Gemini and Perplexity, as well as some of Samsung’s proprietary neural network features. Yes, the feature set is trimmed compared to flagships, and not all capabilities will make it to the affordable model. But the very fact that smart tools now live in a smartphone costing 26 thousand rubles is a welcome and positive shift.

How Galaxy A27 Differs from A17 and A37

Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy A lineup is quite dense: so many smartphones that all look almost identical. I compared the Galaxy A27, A17, and A37 in a table — the differences are visible under a microscope.

You can see that the A27 borrows the modern design and smooth display from the higher-end A37 but falls short in charging speed, water protection, and power. However, it significantly outpaces the lower-end A17 in processor, display, and out-of-the-box software.

How Much Does Samsung Galaxy A27 Cost in Russia

The smartphone is already available on Ozon

The big news for us is that the newcomer has already arrived in Russia, and the price is a pleasant surprise. The 6/128 GB version costs 25,990 rubles, while the 8/256 GB variant is priced at 29,990 rubles.

By today’s standards, this is a low price for a 2026 Samsung with up-to-date internals and six years of updates — essentially on par with the previous generation. For this money, you get a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, a triple camera setup at 50, 5, and 2 MP, and a 5000 mAh battery.

Who Is Samsung Galaxy A27 For

The newcomer is ideal for those who want a not-too-cheap and reasonably powerful smartphone

It’s worth buying if you want a new affordable Samsung with a nice display and decent battery life, but can’t justify paying for the A37. This is a solid everyday smartphone: calls, messengers, a camera for everyday shots, and long-term update support for years to come.

Skip it if fast charging, serious water protection, or gaming performance are important to you — in that case, look at the Galaxy A37. And if your budget is really tight and you need a memory card slot, the A17 will do the job. In all other cases, the Samsung Galaxy A27 looks like the perfect sweet spot.
