This is the most interesting among new Samsung devices and potentially the first truly fresh form factor in a couple of years. Unlike the regular Fold 8, the Wide version will feature an inner display with a wider aspect ratio of about 4:3, closer to a tablet. In other words, when unfolded, it’s essentially a nearly 8-inch Galaxy Tab in your pocket.
Insiders consider the Wide the first foldable smartphone that you could genuinely use as a daily driver. The internals are expected to match the standard Fold 8: the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and up to 16 GB of RAM, but this version might be the one to get S Pen support. The clamshell flip phone is changing the least in 2026. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will keep its familiar screens — 6.9 inches inside and 4.1 inches outside — and will be about 0.5 mm thinner than the Flip 7, which feels nicer in the pocket than any spec sheet numbers. The battery, unfortunately, stays the same at around 4300 mAh. However, Qi2 wireless charging with MagSafe-style magnets will be added, something Samsung foldables have never had before.
In Europe and Korea, the Flip 8 will get the proprietary 2-nanometer Exynos 2600, while in the US, rumor has it, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. An affordable flagship for those who don’t need to overpay for the full S-series. The key thing about the new Samsung smartphone Galaxy S26 FE is that the gap with the regular flagship will finally shrink: inside, the same Exynos 2500 is expected as in the base Galaxy S26, instead of the noticeably weaker chip from the previous FE. The 120 Hz display at 6.7 inches is promised to be AMOLED with brightness around 1900 nits, a 4900–5000 mAh battery with 45W charging, and a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization.
