A few days ago I had the new realme P4 smartphone in my hands and shared my first impressions. At that time it wasn’t yet on sale, and I was holding it until the release. Now it’s official: on July 14, 2026, sales of three smartphones in the series launched in Russia — realme P4, P4x, and P4 Lite. Let me break down how they differ and who should get which one.

The realme P4 series is an attempt to make smartphones that last long and work well, rather than just looking good at launch. The slogan “For the Long Run” isn’t a marketing phrase but a description of specific engineering solutions. All three models share one thing: silicon-carbon batteries that degrade significantly slower than regular lithium-ion ones. In short: after two to three years, the battery will lose noticeably less capacity than competitors with regular batteries.
The second common feature is the ArmorShell body with MIL-STD 810H certification. This isn’t “protected by the manufacturer’s own standards” but a real industrial drop-resistance standard. realme chose processors not for benchmarks but for low heat and energy efficiency — the company openly states that the P4 is not for heavy 3D gaming. I appreciate that kind of honesty.
realme P4 — A Smartphone with a Bright Screen
The most feature-packed smartphone in the series
The realme P4 smartphone is the top model in the lineup and the only one with an AMOLED screen. This is fundamental: among all three, only this one has a vivid, saturated display rather than IPS. Plus it has IP65 water and dust protection.

- Snapdragon 685 — the only model in the series running Qualcomm;
- 7000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, 6-year lifespan (1600 cycles);

- AI Pulse Light — light indicator on the back with 9 colors;
- 8 GB RAM + up to 16 GB virtual, 8.1 mm thickness, 205 grams.
Launch price — from 15,499 rubles for 6/128 GB, from 18,999 rubles for 8/256 GB. This is reasonable for a smartphone with AMOLED and IP65. I had the P4 in my hands before the release. One thing I’ll note here: Snapdragon 685 is a budget chip, and micro-stutters occasionally appear. realme doesn’t lie — there’s no peak performance here. But the battery and protection are genuinely solid.
realme P4x — A Smartphone with an 8000 mAh Battery
The realme P4x smartphone is a story about one main argument. An 8000 mAh silicon-carbon battery in a smartphone under 20,000 rubles — among regular (non-rugged) models in this price range, there’s simply nothing like it. The battery is rated for 7 years, retaining over 91% capacity after three years.

- IPS LCD 6.8 inches, 120 Hz, up to 900 nits — not AMOLED anymore, but decent;
- Unisoc T7250 — the same chip as the P4 Lite, but weaker than Snapdragon 685;

- IP64 — protection from splashes and dust;
- AI Pulse Light included, side-mounted fingerprint scanner;
- 8.78 mm thickness, 219 grams weight.
You should buy the realme P4x if battery life is your main priority. Two days without charging with mixed usage is a realistic promise with this battery. More expensive than the P4 Lite, cheaper than the P4, and it has the biggest battery of the three. The design with AI Pulse Light and a “racing” motif is the same as the P4.
realme P4 Lite — A Thin Smartphone with a Big Battery
The realme P4 Lite smartphone is a budget device with an unexpected engineering trick. With a 7000 mAh battery, it’s only 8.38 mm thick and weighs 208 grams. That’s thinner and lighter than the P4x with its smaller battery — a non-trivial engineering achievement.

The compromises are honest:
- 8 MP main camera and 5 MP front camera — the weakest in the series;
- 15W charging — slow, full cycle takes over two hours;
- No AI Pulse Light;
- IP64, same as the P4x;
- Same Unisoc T7250 as the P4x.
However, there’s an interesting detail — a “mini-capsule” around the front camera with interactive notifications. It looks fresh. You should buy the realme P4 Lite if you need a thin smartphone with a big battery for minimal money and don’t take phone photography seriously.

My personal verdict on each:
- Get the realme P4 in Russia if an AMOLED screen combined with a large battery matters to you. The 500-ruble difference from the P4x at launch is negligible, and AMOLED plus IP65 is a real quality premium;
- You should buy the realme P4x if battery is your sole priority. No one else in this price range offers 8000 mAh silicon-carbon.
