Redmi K90 Ultra has passed certification in China, confirming support for 100W charging. This is important for two reasons: first, there have been rumors in recent months about the project being canceled, and second, according to insiders, the Redmi K90 Ultra phone may occupy an even higher position in Xiaomi’s lineup than the already released Redmi K90 Max — the brand’s first smartphone with a built-in fan.

What We Know About the Redmi K90 Ultra

A smartphone with model number M332BF appeared in the database of the Chinese Quality Certification Center (3C) on May 25. According to the document, the following Redmi K90 Ultra specifications are known:

  • 100W wired charging
  • 5G connectivity

There are no other technical details in the certification sheet. However, Chinese insider Digital Chat Station hinted at a number of possible specifications: a large flat screen with a high refresh rate, an enlarged battery, advanced cooling, and aggressive performance tuning for sustained workloads. For now, these are just rumors rather than confirmed specifications.

How the Redmi K90 Ultra Is Better Than the Redmi K90 Max

You might think the word “Ultra” in the name speaks for itself, but in the Redmi K90 lineup, things are more confusing. According to sources, the K90 Ultra formally sits below the K90 Max by name, but actually occupies a higher position in the product hierarchy. This is also confirmed by earlier comments from Lu Weibing, president of Redmi, who said that the K90 Ultra would become a more advanced device.

For comparison, the already released Redmi K90 Max smartphone is an openly gaming smartphone with a serious set of specifications:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor
  • Discrete AI D2 graphics chip
  • LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage
  • 1.5K screen with 165 Hz refresh rate for gaming
  • Built-in cooling fan
  • Price starting from 2,999 yuan, approximately from 45,000 ₽ in Russia

The K90 Ultra, judging by leaks, is expected to be not purely a gaming device, but a balanced flagship with emphasis on both performance and overall user experience.

Will the Redmi K90 Ultra Actually Launch

For several months, information appeared in the Chinese segment of the internet that Xiaomi had allegedly shelved the development of the Redmi K90 Ultra. Now the 3C certification effectively disproves these rumors. Another well-known insider, Smart Pikachu, confirmed that Xiaomi continues to actively prepare the device for release.

That said, it’s important to understand: the certification only confirms the charging power and 5G support. All other specifications — from the chipset to the battery size — are currently based solely on leaks. The Redmi K90 Ultra release date is also unknown, although it’s logical to assume the second half of 2025.

Should You Wait for the Redmi K90 Ultra in Russia

In Russia, the smartphone is expected to launch as the Xiaomi 17T Pro. Image: Xiaomi

The answer here is likely to disappoint. According to sources, the Redmi K90 Ultra is an exclusive for the Chinese market. It has the internal codename WARSAW, belongs to the P12X model family, and Xiaomi is not preparing a global firmware for it. The device may launch internationally under a different name — Xiaomi 17T Pro, but that’s already a separate lineup, and there is no confirmed data yet about matching specifications.

For those considering purchasing through Chinese stores, it’s worth noting the absence of Russian language in the firmware, the specifics of Google services on Chinese versions, and the lack of official warranty. If you’re interested in a Redmi flagship with maximum performance and are willing to accept these limitations, the K90 Ultra is worth keeping on your radar, excluding overpaying for the Xiaomi badge. For everyone else, it’s wiser to wait for the global Xiaomi 17T series models.
