The stable version of Android 17 was announced by Google just last week, but the system rollout won’t begin until summer. Google Pixel smartphones will be the first to receive the update, with other manufacturers following over the next several months. If your phone was released in 2024 or later, the chances of getting the update are high. But there are nuances: budget and mid-range models from some brands may be left without the update even if they’re quite recent, and the list of who will get Android 17 can be found below.

When Will Android 17 Be Released for Phones

Google is following an accelerated schedule: beta testing began in February 2026, platform stability was reached in March, and the release is planned for June. For comparison, Android 16 was released on June 10, 2025, and Android 17 is following the same path.

Google Pixel 6 and newer smartphones will be the first to receive the stable build — that’s 20 models in total. Samsung has already launched the One UI 9 beta program based on Android 17 for the Galaxy S26, and the stable version, according to Samsung, will debut on “future flagships” (most likely the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and other foldable models expected in July).

For owners of Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other brand smartphones, the realistic update timeline is fall 2026 and later. Mid-range and budget models traditionally receive updates last, sometimes with a delay until early 2027.

Google updates its Pixels before everyone else, and this rule hasn’t changed. Android 17 support will be available for all models from Pixel 6 to Pixel 10a inclusive. Full list:

  • Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a
  • Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a
  • Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a
  • Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10a

Pixel 5 and older models have been left behind. There is no longer chip manufacturer support for them, which is understandable: Pixel 5 was released back in 2020.

Samsung guarantees seven Android updates for flagships and six years of updates for mid-range models. This means the list of supported devices is very broad:

  • Galaxy S series: Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S25 FE, as well as Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra;
  • Among foldable devices, the latest generations of Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip will receive the update;
  • Galaxy A series: from A24 and newer, including A34, A54, A15, A25, A35, A55, A06, A16, A26, A36, A56, A07, A17, A37, and A57.

The list also includes the Galaxy M series (M15, M35, M55, M07, M16, M36, M56, M17e, M17) and Galaxy F series (F06, F07, F15, F16, F17, F34, F35, F36, F54, F55, F56, F70e). However, Galaxy S22 will not receive the update — that threshold has already been passed.

List of Xiaomi Phones Getting Android 17

Xiaomi has a complicated update situation. Image: TechTablets

Among all major manufacturers, Xiaomi remains the most problematic when it comes to updates. The company systematically releases phones with outdated Android versions and then uses this as a pretext not to update them to current versions. A prime example is the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, which launched in January 2024 with Android 13 instead of Android 14. Because of this, Xiaomi doesn’t plan to update it to Android 17. The same trick repeats with the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and the new Redmi Note 15 Pro+.

Nevertheless, Xiaomi’s flagship models will receive the update. Here’s the full list:

  • Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, 13 Ultra, 13T, 13T Pro
  • Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro, 14 Ultra, 14T, 14T Pro, 14 CIVI
  • Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, 15T, 15T Pro
  • Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra
  • Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, MIX Fold 4, MIX Flip, MIX Flip 2

Redmi Note series: Redmi Note 14 (all versions except Pro+), Redmi Note 14 Pro, Redmi Note 14S, Redmi Note 15, 15 5G, 15 Pro (except Pro+). Budget Redmi lineup: Redmi 15, 15 4G, 15C, 15C 4G. Keep in mind that Xiaomi usually updates phones among the last of the major brands, so expect Android 17 on these models closer to the end of 2026 or even early 2027.

OnePlus, vivo, and OPPO: Who Will Get Android 17

OnePlus promises updates for most phones released in the last three years. The OnePlus shell is now identical to ColorOS from OPPO, which speeds up the release of updates. List:

  • OnePlus 11, 11R, 12, 12R, 13, 13R, 13s, 13T, 15, 15R
  • OnePlus Open
  • OnePlus Nord 4, 5, 6, Nord CE4, CE4 Lite, CE 5, CE 6, CE 6 Lite

vivo is actively working on updates: the X300 series is promised five years of software updates, while the mid-range V70 and V70 Elite will receive four Android versions. Models from Vivo X100 to X300 Ultra, foldable X Fold 3 Pro and X Fold 5, the V40–V70 series, T4, Y lineup, and the iQOO range (12 Pro, 13, 15, Neo 9 Pro, Neo 10, Z10, and others) will receive the Android 17 update. OPPO has a similar situation: five Android updates for flagships.
