Accessory manufacturer iFunSmart was the first to post cases for the upcoming foldable iPhone, and from them it’s already clear how exactly Apple designed the body. These are not official images yet, but cases are made using precise mockups — with millimeter accuracy, otherwise the accessory simply won’t fit. Now the final design has become known. The leaks show a thin body, two lenses, a Camera Control button, and doubts surrounding MagSafe.

This is likely what the foldable iPhone Fold will look like

The images were discovered by the French site iPhoneSoft. The pictures show a small camera module with two lenses, a thin profile, and a circular cutout for MagSafe-style magnets. iFunSmart itself describes the cases as military-grade protection with a matte translucent finish, built-in N52 magnets, a 1.5 mm camera bezel, and a 1 mm screen bezel.

Why these images can generally be trusted: case manufacturers start producing accessories in advance, relying on leaked mockups and CAD files. They can’t afford to make mistakes — otherwise there won’t be any product available at launch. Previously, insider Sonny Dickson showed the foldable iPhone in new photos, and it’s exactly these kinds of mockups that typically circulate among case factories.

There are even images from all sides
Another design detail: the case isn’t a single piece but consists of several parts that attach separately. There’s no other way — the body folds, and a single-piece case physically wouldn’t stretch over it.
Foldable iPhone Specifications — Display, Processor, and Cameras
According to current leaks, the foldable iPhone will have:
- 5.5-inch outer display
- 7.8-inch inner display
- approximately 9.5 mm thick when folded and about 4.5 mm when unfolded
- A20 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM
- two 48 MP cameras
- Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID

The outer display will be small with an unusual, almost square shape

The inner display will be able to replace your tablet
There will be no telephoto lens — this is already evident from the number of cutouts in the case. For the user, this means no optical zoom in the way Pro models typically offer: anything beyond a standard frame will be handled through cropping and processing. For a flagship at this price point, it’s a controversial decision.
Another departure from the norm is biometrics. Instead of Face ID, Apple is rumored to include Touch ID in the side button. The logic is clear: a foldable body and thin bezels don’t work well with the Face ID module, but owners of Pro models have long been accustomed to unlocking with a glance.
Foldable iPhone Price and Release Date
According to current information, the foldable iPhone will launch in fall 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The starting price is around $2,000, which is approximately 200,000 rubles in Russia through unofficial channels.
This is noticeably more expensive than any current iPhone Pro Max and comparable to top-tier foldable smartphones from Samsung and Huawei. Purchasing such a device isn’t an upgrade “because it’s time” but a deliberate choice of form factor, and for most users the iPhone 18 Pro will remain the more rational option.
Why the Foldable iPhone Might Lack MagSafe and the Action Button
The case has N52 magnets and a circular cutout for them — but this doesn’t mean that MagSafe is built into the smartphone itself. The magnets may be embedded only in the case so that wireless chargers and car mounts can attach to it. There had already been rumors that Apple might drop MagSafe from the foldable model — apparently for the sake of body thickness.

MagSafe may only remain in the case
What this means in practice:
- wireless charging via MagSafe accessories will most likely only work with the case on
- without the case, magnetic stands and wallets may not hold
- charging speed and standard have not yet been specified in leaks
Another difference from current iPhones — the case has a cutout for the Camera Control button but no cutout for the Action button. This means the quick mode switcher (flashlight, silent mode, app shortcut) that owners of iPhone 15 Pro and newer have grown accustomed to will apparently not appear in the foldable model.
