Xiaomi has released a HyperOS 3 update that affects the flagship Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 14 smartphones, REDMI gaming models, and the REDMI K Pad 2 tablet. The new version of HyperOS has been a source of problems more than once — recently, for example, a HyperOS update broke the camera on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, turning the expensive smartphone into a cheap REDMI. This time the news is more pleasant: the company is closing bugs rather than creating new ones. For now, patches are only rolling out in China through the beta channel, but some devices have global counterparts — meaning the fixes will eventually reach international firmware.

Xiaomi releases an important HyperOS 3 update
HyperOS 3 — What Bugs Were Fixed in the Update
Xiaomi published a weekly report in the official Xiaomi Community, listing specific problems and the devices on which they were fixed. Most HyperOS 3 bugs relate to system stability, gallery performance, gaming performance, and launcher behavior. Here is the full list of fixes by model:

The update is available for select smartphones
- Xiaomi 17 Pro (HyperOS 3.0.306.0) — intrusive Wi-Fi authentication pop-ups that kept appearing again and again.
- Xiaomi 17 (HyperOS 3.0.306.0) — disappearing context menu when long-pressing on the home screen.
- Xiaomi 15 Pro (HyperOS 3.0.302.0) — gallery thumbnails didn’t match the actual image when zooming in.
- Xiaomi 15 (HyperOS 3.0.301.0) — distorted audio playback in Live GIF.
- Xiaomi 14 (HyperOS 3.0.302.0) — false warnings about insufficient data and crashes after repeatedly editing photos in the gallery.
- REDMI K90 Pro Max / POCO F8 Ultra (HyperOS 3.0.303.0) — duplicate photos and videos in the gallery.
- REDMI Turbo 5 Max / POCO X8 Pro Max — automatic reset of Game Turbo settings during game acceleration.
- REDMI K Pad 2 (HyperOS 3.0.304.0) — frame rate issues in games.
Gallery bugs on HyperOS were the most common. On different models they manifested differently: mixed-up previews, duplicated files, and lost edits during photo editing. For those who actively edit photos on their phone, this was particularly frustrating.
Which Smartphones Will Receive HyperOS 3 Bug Fixes
Some devices on the list are China-only models. Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and REDMI K Pad 2 are not yet sold outside of China. Meanwhile, no bugs have been found on the new Xiaomi 17 Max with its 8000 mAh battery and no rear display. However, two devices on the list have direct global counterparts — REDMI K90 Pro Max is released internationally as POCO F8 Ultra, and REDMI Turbo 5 Max as POCO X8 Pro Max.

Some smartphones are released in China under a different name
This means that owners of POCO F8 Ultra and POCO X8 Pro Max can expect the same fixes, but with a delay. Xiaomi traditionally tests patches first on Chinese beta builds and only then integrates them into global firmware. According to the company, these fixes are expected in international versions of HyperOS 3 in the coming weeks.
Separately, Xiaomi emphasized that the listed devices are only the models on which testing was conducted. If the same HyperOS bug is reproducible on other Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO smartphones or tablets, the fix will come to them as part of future HyperOS updates.
When Will the Global HyperOS 3 Update Be Released
Xiaomi still uses Chinese beta builds as a testing ground for new versions of HyperOS 3. New fixes first appear in Chinese builds and then gradually migrate to global firmware. The company hasn’t changed this approach since HyperOS 2 or HyperOS 3.

Beta versions traditionally come out earlier
Xiaomi has not given specific dates for the global release of these particular patches — the wording is “in the coming weeks.” Considering that the global rollout of HyperOS 3 had reached 95% of compatible devices by March 2026, and the company has started rolling out HyperOS 3.1, it can be assumed that the fixes will be included in one of the upcoming cumulative updates.
Should You Download the Update on Xiaomi and POCO
If you have a POCO F8 Ultra, POCO X8 Pro Max, Xiaomi 14, or another model from the list — the good news is that Xiaomi has confirmed it fixed important bugs at the code level. The bad news is that you’ll have to wait until the patch reaches the global version of HyperOS.
Those who have been dealing with intrusive Wi-Fi notifications, Game Turbo settings resetting, or photo duplication should keep an eye on updates in “Settings,” then “About Phone,” then “System Update.” No action is required from the user — the patch will arrive over the air automatically when it’s ready for your region. And if the bugs don’t affect you — this report at least shows that Xiaomi is actively working on improving HyperOS 3.
