A year ago, any conversation about a smart Siri only brought a sad smirk, but now the voice assistant can finally do what it was designed for. Apple released a public beta version of iOS 27, and many rushed to install it to test Siri AI in action. The first thing almost everyone does after installation is ask the assistant a question they’d normally take to ChatGPT. I did the same: I took three identical queries and ran them through both neural networks on the same iPhone. The result turned out to be only half predictable.

Siri AI in Russian: Speed and Accuracy of Responses
I started with the most basic query that people ask most often in everyday life: what’s the weather like right now in Novosibirsk. Siri AI responded in a couple of seconds and displayed a card with the city, a temperature of 20 degrees, a Clear label, and the daily minimum and maximum. No complaints about speed whatsoever — the card is attractive, everything is clear at a glance.

The problem showed up elsewhere. The response came in English, even though the question was asked in Russian: “It’s currently clear and 20°C in Novosibirsk, Russia.” For someone who just wants to check the weather, it’s a minor issue. For someone expecting a proper Russian-language assistant — it’s an annoying detail. There are workarounds, but out of the box, the assistant still tends to fall back to English.
ChatGPT answered the same question in Russian and immediately gave a detailed response: currently 19 degrees, sunny with haze, followed by a six-day forecast with icons and an hourly temperature graph. Plus a text summary: today up to +26, Wednesday and Thursday warming up to +27…+28, expect thunderstorms on Friday. The one-degree difference between the assistants is trivial — just different data sources. But the difference in the volume of information is enormous: Siri gave a fact, ChatGPT gave the full picture.
Searching for Current Information via Siri AI and ChatGPT
The second question was about football. I asked how many matches were left until the end of the World Cup. Here, both neural networks delivered, and that’s already a good sign for Apple.
Siri AI went to the internet, honestly cited tribuna.com as a source, and provided a structured answer: the tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, today is July 14, ahead are the semifinals, third-place match, and the final — four matches total. Then came a list broken down by stages with a note that the final will take place on July 19 in New York. The information was accurate, the presentation clean.

ChatGPT answered with the same number but added an interactive card with a bracket: France vs. Spain tomorrow at 02:00, England vs. Argentina on July 16, then two matches marked TBD. Below the card was a list of dates, and at the end, an offer to provide match start times in the local time zone or give predictions for the semifinals. In other words, the assistant didn’t just answer — it suggested a next step.
There’s also a downside with Siri. After the answer, it inserted the phrase “Before you move on, always verify important details. I’m an AI that may make mistakes” — again in English, right in the middle of Russian text. A small thing, but it’s exactly these small things that create the impression of a raw product.
Practical Advice from Siri AI and ChatGPT
The third query I deliberately made everyday and ambiguous: can you wash a baseball cap in a dishwasher. Questions like these perfectly show whether a neural network can actually think rather than just retelling the first website from search results.
Siri AI immediately took a position: washing caps in a dishwasher is not recommended — hot water and harsh detergents will damage the fabric, deform the brim, and cause fading. Then three bullet points — preparation, placement, cycle. The answer was short, logical, with a cited source. At the end, the assistant even asked what kind of cap I was planning to wash. As a quick reference — quite decent.

ChatGPT approached it from the other side and broke the situation down by scenarios. First, it explained why the method became popular in the first place: a cap doesn’t get as crumpled as it does in a washing machine. Then it separately detailed when washing is okay (cotton or polyester, plastic brim, no leather or cardboard) and when it’s not (vintage models from before the 1980s with cardboard brims, leather inserts, or an explicit manufacturer prohibition).

Then came step-by-step instructions, an “After washing” section with advice to dry the cap on an upturned bowl, a section on the method’s downsides, and a practical conclusion: hand washing in cool water remains the safest option, while the dishwasher is only suitable for modern, inexpensive baseball caps. Now that’s a full-fledged answer, not a brush-off. The gap between the assistants was at its widest for this entire test.
When to Use Siri AI and When to Launch ChatGPT
The conclusion turned out as follows. Siri AI gives more or less decent answers, and that’s already a huge step forward.
