There’s plenty of good news for travelers in 2026. Russians can already visit 78 countries without a visa, and about 50 more with simplified entry. This means there are still plenty of vacation options without lengthy bureaucracy: from Turkey and Thailand to Vietnam, Argentina, and other less obvious destinations. Saudi Arabia is also being discussed separately: a mutual visa waiver agreement was signed on December 1, 2025.
New Visa-Free Countries for Russians in 2026
Russia and Saudi Arabia signed a visa waiver agreement on December 1, 2025, but the visa-free regime has not yet come into effect. Once it does, Russians will be able to stay in the country for up to 90 days per year without a visa. While the regime hasn’t launched yet, interest in the country is already growing: Saudi Arabia even attempted to build a city of the future called The Line.
In the meantime, Russians have access to 78 countries without a visa, and about 50 more countries allow entry with a visa on arrival or a simplified online permit, so there are still plenty of travel options.
