Remember the days when flagship smartphones differed from each other only in screen size and megapixel count? Those days are long gone. Vivo has just confirmed the upcoming release of the vivo X300s — a device that originally appeared in leaks as the X300 Max. And judging by the revealed specs, this smartphone is aiming for the very top of Android flagships in 2026.

Why the vivo X300s Is an Enlarged Version of the X300

Information about the new device came straight from the source. Vivo product manager Han Boxiao published details on the social network Weibo, clarifying the naming question along the way. The thing is, the company seriously considered the “Max” suffix internally — that’s how significant the upgrades are compared to the base vivo X300. But ultimately they decided to keep the familiar “s” letter used in the X series.

Moreover, the letter “s” in the name stands for “SuperMax” — a hint that this is not just a cosmetic update, but a serious step forward in terms of performance and multimedia capabilities. The new device will be an enlarged and improved version of the standard X300, which features a compact 6.31-inch display. The X300s screen will grow to 6.78 inches, and that’s not the only difference. It’s expected that the smartphone will be unveiled alongside the vivo X300 Ultra, meaning the X300 lineup will gain two flagships at once.

A 144 Hz Display

The screen is one of the main highlights of the new device. The vivo X300s will feature a flat 6.78-inch BOE Q10+ AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. For the X series, this is the first smartphone with such a high refresh rate — even the X300 Pro is limited to 120 Hz. Moreover, according to vivo, the display supports native gameplay at 144 frames per second in several MOBA games.

BOE Q10 panels have already proven themselves in the industry: the original version became the first display to receive an A++ rating from DisplayMate. The improved Q10+ version should raise the bar even higher. The screen also incorporates Circular Polarization Light 2.0 technology, which, according to the manufacturer, provides improved eye protection during prolonged use. Simply put, your eyes will get noticeably less tired. The display will also feature Zeiss color calibration — the same one used in professional optics.

A Smartphone with a 200 MP Camera and Zeiss

Han Boxiao confirmed that the vivo X300s will be equipped with a 200-megapixel sensor with Zeiss tuning. Other camera details haven’t been officially revealed yet, but previous leaks point to a triple module. In addition to the main 200 MP sensor, the smartphone will feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with support for macro shooting at high magnification.

Essentially, vivo positions the X300s as a device for those who need a large screen and a serious camera at the same time. Recently, many manufacturers have been moving powerful optics into compact models, while the X300s takes a different approach.

The vivo X300s Processor and Battery

According to leaks, the X300s will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip — a flagship processor built on TSMC’s 3-nanometer process. This chipset became the first mobile processor to surpass the 4 million AnTuTu points mark. It’s built on the third-generation All Big Core architecture with an ultra-core clocked at 4.21 GHz and delivers up to 29% improvement in single-core performance compared to its predecessor.

But there’s a nuance: early leaks even mentioned the Dimensity 9500 Plus — an overclocked version of the same chip. Which variant will end up in the production X300s remains to be seen. Powering all of this will be a battery with approximately 7000 mAh capacity supporting 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. An IP69 protection rating is also mentioned, meaning the smartphone won’t be afraid of dust or high-pressure water jets.

Sound and Vibration on vivo

The multimedia improvements deserve special mention. The vivo X300s will feature symmetrical dual 1511 speakers — similar to those found in the iQOO 15. The smartphone supports the Super-sense Gaming Audio Zone feature, which, according to vivo, improves gaming audio detail by up to 120%. In practice, this means enemy footsteps and gunshot sounds in shooters will become significantly clearer — gamers will appreciate this.

Additionally, inside there’s a custom 751440 4D vibration motor, which Han Boxiao called the largest and most powerful vibration motor in the entire history of the X series. It supports enhanced haptic effects in more than ten popular mobile games, providing deeper feedback during gameplay.
All of this clearly indicates that vivo is targeting the X300s not only at mobile photography enthusiasts but also at gamers who value screen quality, sound, and haptic feedback.

The vivo X300s looks like one of the most balanced flagships of 2026: a huge AMOLED with a record refresh rate for the series, a 200-megapixel Zeiss camera with a periscope lens, the most powerful MediaTek chip, and a battery that will last a day and a half of active use. All that’s left is to wait for the official presentation and find out the price — that will determine whether the X300s becomes a people’s flagship or remains a premium toy for enthusiasts.
