Living in 18 square meters — and not feeling cramped? It turns out it’s possible: the new tiny house from Craft House fits on a dual-axle trailer, accommodates four adults, is equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and can operate fully off-grid using solar panels. Let’s break down what’s inside, how much this dream costs, and whether there are alternatives in Russia.

What Is the Katrin Tiny House on Wheels and How Is It Designed

The autonomous tiny house on wheels Katrin was designed by the Polish company Craft House, which operates in Poland, Austria, and Ireland. The house is 7.2 m long, which is compact even by European tiny house standards, making it well suited for a nomadic lifestyle. The structure is built on a SYMA dual-axle trailer (7.2 x 2.5 m), and the exterior is finished with engineered wood (thermo-pine) and sheet metal with an aluminum standing seam.

The interior area is 18 m², and the interior is clad in Scandinavian spruce — creating a feeling reminiscent of a log cabin. For such a tiny space, this works perfectly: natural wood visually “warms” and expands the interior. The main idea behind this house is flexibility. It’s not just a trailer-cottage for summer trips, but a fully functional dwelling for year-round use with the ability to upgrade to full off-grid capability.

Autonomous Tiny House on Wheels Katrin: Overview and Specifications

The autonomous Katrin house accommodates up to four adults and is equipped with staircase cabinets (leading to the first bedroom), a folding ladder to save space (leading to the second bedroom), and an underfloor heating system. In addition, the base configuration includes:

  • underfloor heating
  • split air conditioning system
  • PVC windows with double glazing
  • fully finished and equipped kitchen with high-strength plywood furniture
  • fully finished and equipped bathroom
  • 220 V electrical wiring

This combination allows comfortable living in the house both in winter and summer. Large glass sliding doors in the living room fill the space with light, and in warm weather — effectively merge the house with the outdoors. But the options list is also interesting: the house can be upgraded with a fully autonomous system featuring solar panels and batteries, as well as a fireplace, living room furniture, and even a terrace.

It’s important to understand: the solar-powered autonomous system is an option, not part of the base configuration. The manufacturer builds each house to the customer’s individual specifications, so the final price will depend on the selected equipment.

What’s Inside the Tiny House: Kitchen, Bathroom, and Bedrooms in 18 m²

The most impressive thing about this autonomous house is how many functional zones were fitted into an area comparable to a single room in a regular apartment. Interest in unusual compact homes has been growing for years. Here’s what’s inside the Katrin:

The kitchen is equipped with a sink, induction cooktop, oven, and refrigerator. Next to it is a bar counter seating two, which can also serve as a work desk.

The bathroom is located at the opposite end of the house from the living room. Inside there’s a shower with a glass enclosure, a flush toilet, a wall-mounted sink, an electric radiator, a water heater, a mirror, and a ventilation fan.

Two bedrooms — these are lofts with low ceilings. The main bedroom fits a double bed and storage space, accessed via a staircase with built-in drawers. The second bedroom is more interesting: it’s reached by a folding ladder that folds against the wall and doesn’t take up space in the living room when not in use.

The living room. If desired, a sofa bed can be placed there — then the house can accommodate up to six sleeping spots. For a 7.2-meter length, that’s an impressive result.

How Much Does the Tiny House on Wheels Cost and What’s Included

The autonomous Katrin house is priced at 199,000 Polish zlotys (approximately $53,400) in its base configuration. At the zloty-to-ruble exchange rate in early April 2026 (about 21.8 rubles per zloty), that’s roughly 4.3 million rubles — not including the cost of the autonomous system and delivery.

For context: the price is comparable to the cost of a one-bedroom apartment in a small Russian city (in rarer cases, a two-bedroom). But unlike an apartment, this house can be transported to any location where parking is permitted.

There is no delivery information yet — interested buyers are advised to contact Craft House directly. Given the current global situation, buying from Russia will likely be very problematic.
