Today Apple opens WWDC 2026 and will unveil iOS 27 for the first time. Only a few hours remain until the presentation, but the main features of the update are already known from leaks. If you don’t want to wait, here are all the leaks about the new OS that I’ve managed to gather. It looks like this fall your iPhone will change more than it has in several recent years.

New Siri in iOS 27: Chatbot, App, and Smart Commands

The main intrigue of iOS 27 is a completely redesigned Siri. Apple is preparing a total AI overhaul for the assistant, and fans have been waiting a long time for what was promised.

Siri will even have a dedicated app

According to rumors, Siri will receive several major changes. A dedicated Siri app right on the iPhone will appear. The interface will resemble a chatbot in the style of ChatGPT and Gemini — with a dialogue and query history. It will be powered by a large language model, so the assistant will finally gain knowledge about the world, not just commands for a timer.

Siri will learn to perform multiple actions in a single request, pull in personal context, screen awareness, and App Intents — the very features Apple had been postponing for over a year. The design will be tied to Dynamic Island, and “Ask Siri” buttons will be scattered throughout the system. If Apple delivers even half of what’s promised, this will be a new chapter in the assistant’s history.

Photo Editing in iOS 27: Extend, Enhance, and Reframe

The Photos app in iOS 27 will gain three AI tools: Extend, Enhance, and Reframe.

Extend generates imagery beyond the boundaries of the original frame. Enhance automatically improves colors, lighting, and overall photo quality. And Reframe is designed primarily for spatial photos — it lets you shift the angle after the shot has already been taken.

The familiar Clean Up tool will also be improved. Gemini technologies will help with this — Apple entered a partnership with Google specifically for such tasks.

How the iPhone Camera Will Recognize Objects in iOS 27

Apple introduced Visual Intelligence back in iOS 18, tying it to Camera Control on the iPhone 16. In iOS 27, the feature will be significantly expanded and built directly into the Camera app.

Next to the Photo and Video modes, a new Siri mode will appear. It will combine all existing Visual Intelligence capabilities and add a couple of new ones. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the camera will learn to read nutritional information from packaging and log the data into a food diary. It will also be able to recognize contact details directly from what the lens sees and save them immediately.

Apple Wallet in iOS 27: Digital Passes, Tickets, and Templates

The Wallet app gains new features every year, and iOS 27 is no exception. The main addition is the “Create Pass” feature.

Now Wallet will be able to store far more tickets and passes. A pass can be created from scratch or via the iPhone camera: point it at a QR code, and it turns into a digital ticket. Style, image, color, and text field customization will be available.

Apple is testing three pass templates. Standard (orange) is a universal option for any pass. Membership (blue) is tailored for gyms and similar venues. And the event pass (purple) is suited for tickets to games, movies, and other events.

The Health app will receive several improvements, some of which were previously planned to be sold as a subscription.

According to insiders, Apple had been building an Apple Health+ service, but Eddy Cue decided otherwise and made the new features free. Among them are educational videos from doctors and experts, AI coaching with health advice, and more advanced nutrition tracking.

There is a caveat, though. These features may not arrive immediately but rather in one of the future iOS 27 updates. So there’s no guarantee they’ll even be shown at WWDC.

The iOS 27 keyboard may receive a major update — grammar suggestions.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on a Grammarly-like feature. The keyboard won’t just fix typos but will also suggest alternative words with a focus on proper grammar. All of this will naturally be powered by artificial intelligence.
